Comments: This is the first s-grind I’ve ever done. It is essentially a slight convex grind ground to a zero edge and then belly ground the center out to really enhance food release. Potatoes beware! It is ~ 0.09” thick at the heel spine and tapers greatly from there to the point. The handle is my western style handle with a rounded front bolster to mimic the feel in hand of an integral chef knife. Balance point right in front of the bolster due to the lightness of the blade. Sharpened on Japanese water stones and ready to work. This is an absolute killer of a knife!

“Clean” Straight Razors
This section contains straight razors that are free from forge scale. While these razors are still completely forged to shape, they are done so thicker so that they can be surface ground to even parallel surfaces on the spine ensuring optimal thickness to width ratios. The tangs are ground free of scale as well as tapered leaving a finish free of forge scale.

“Brute de Forge” Style Straight Razors
***Disclaimer - Please Read Before Purchase***
This section contains straight razors that are forged very close to finish dimensions. This means the thickness is forged as even as possible to final dimensions and the tang is tapered in the forging process naturally. No grinding is done to the flats or tang of the blade after forging (only some slight profiling is done).
This process leaves forge scale on the blade and results in the desired look you see in these razors.
As the process leaves scale and forge pits along the spine - it is not possible to guarantee these razors won’t leave a scratch in your strop in stropping. It is after all an uneven metal surface with leftover forge pits and scale.
If you are concerned about any scratches to your piece of leather then please do not purchase one of these razors. Purchase one of my clean razors above.
